One of the best characters in Star Wars is Leia Organa. Even though she is a princess, she is never a true “damsel in distress”. She can take care of herself and the others around her. She eventually becomes a General in the Rebellion. Leia has had some of the most iconic moments in the series, so let's take a look at them.
5. “Into The Garbage Shoot Flyboy”

This is the moment we get to see Leia for who she is. She gets rescued by Han and Luke dressed as stormtroopers. While they’re trying to escape from the stormtroopers chasing them, she grabs a gun and helps defend herself, Han, and Luke. She directs them into the garbage shoot and utters the famous line, “Into the garbage shoot flyboy”. She isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty or tell others what to do.

4. Leia Meeting The Ewoks

Return Of The Jedi is my favorite Star Wars movie and has some of the most iconic Leia moments, including this one. When she meets the Ewoks for the first time, she isn't afraid and thinks they're quite cute. She respects them and is kind to them, and in return, they bring her and the others to their village. This is a great moment that shows what type of leader she will eventually be and further proves why she deserves the title of General.
3. Leia Killing Jabba

Even though he was the head of the Hutt Cartel, Jabba wasn't nice to anyone, even those most loyal to him. So it made sense when he took Leia prisoner after she broke in to rescue his most prized possession, Solo. Leia is captured and forced to wear the most uncomfortable-looking bikini set. Later, on the barge, she is there when Jabba goes to "execute" Luke. Of course, we all know how this ends, and in the confusion, Leia takes it upon herself to strangle the crime boss. It's truly one of the most satisfying moments in the series.
2. Leia Kissing Luke

Listen, I know it's her brother, and it's weird, but she didn't know at the time and did it solely to spite Han, which is what he deserved at the time. Luke and Leia were always close, even before they found out they were siblings. Han was making Leia mad, especially when it came to their relationship, so she did the best thing she could think of to spite him by kissing Luke, and it remains iconic to this day.

Since the two of them first met, they won't stop bickering. Both of them have powerful personalities with even stronger opinions. However, in the end, they always see eye to eye to defeat the evil before them. During Empire Strikes Back, the two argue in a hallway in the Rebel base on Hoth. Later in the movie, we finally see the two of them kiss abroad the Millennium Falcon after Leia lets her guard down and Han relaxes. This was the perfect moment, and location, for them to take the next step in their relationship. She will not hesitate to take what she wants, and that's evident when it comes to Han Solo.
Leia Organa is one of the best characters in all of Star Wars. She was always ready to fight and stand up for what she believed in, even if it meant going up against the Empire. Her story didn’t end with the original trilogy, and we saw an older version of her help train and become such an important part of Rey’s life in the sequel trilogy. We were so lucky we got someone as wonderful as Carrie Fisher to play such an iconic character.
