According To Harrison Ford, Marvel's 'The Thunderbolts' Has Made The Actor Consider Different Roles

Harrison Ford is without a doubt a fan-favorite movie actor. His name is synonymous with both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movie franchises. Many Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiasts are elated to learn that he will be stepping into the role of General Thunderbolt Ross. Ford sat down recently with podcaster Mike DeAngelo to talk about 1923 and how the Thunderbolts opened him up to considering different roles, including the popular Yellowstone spin-off created by Taylor Sheridan.  

1923 illustrates the continued journey of the Dutton family through the eyes of Jacob and Cara Dutton, played by Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Viewers get a glimpse of western life in 1920s Montana as the next generation faces the challenges of early 20th-century life. It is interesting to note that Ford has said many times over the years that he was not interested in working for television. When asked by DeAngelo what drew him to 1923 the actor explained the quality of the work was the force that drew him in. He spoke highly of Taylor Sheridan, stating that in all honesty the series could be considered “one-hour movies” He discussed the richness of the story being told as this era was the embodiment of hard times for many Americans.

When DeAngelo asked him what made him choose to join the MCU, his answer was simple. He wanted to do something that he had not done before. Fans of this movie star could not be more thrilled to see him in whatever role or size screen he should choose to grace. The iconic actor has a full dance card coming up in 2023 and 2024. 2.      S1.E1 of the upcoming sitcom television series – Shrinking as Dr. Phil Rhodes. The series is set to premiere on January 27, 2023. It will be available on Apple TV.

3.      Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is expected for theatrical release on June 30, 2023.

4.      Captain America: New World Order is in the pre-production stages of development with an expected release date of May 3, 2024.

5.      Thunderbolts; is also in pre-production at this time. The expected release date is currently July 26, 2024.
