Ahsoka Tano's Spacesuit Is One Of The Coolest Costumes In Star Wars

Star Wars has always had its fun moments, and the Ahsoka series is no different. This particular moment came in the third episode when Ahsoka and Sabine discovered the Eye Of Sion, and were then chased down by Shin Hati and Marrok. While Sabine tries to restart the ship, Ahsoka dons a spacesuit and goes out onto the ship, lightsabers at the ready, to take some enemy fighters down. She successfully takes down a ship when Sabine calls her and tells her they’re ready to go. The moment, while a bit silly, was the kind of unique space action that Star Wars is all about; the thing that stood out the most, however, was the spacesuit that Ahsoka wore, and it appeared to be much different from the one we saw her wear in Clone Wars.

The suit Ahsoka wore in Clone Wars was the same as everyone else’s. It was a standard issue Enviro-suit, complete with a distinctive fishbowl design. While this suit probably works for most species, it does not for Togruta. When she first wore the suit, she was much younger, and her montrals and lekku were not fully grown; they would not fit in the same type of suit when she is an adult. This series has given her a much more customized suit.

Her new suit doesn’t have a helmet, but instead features a full-size visor to protect her face and give her air. This is attached to her head tail coverings, which are made from the same material as the rest of the suit. The new suit is much more versatile and enables her to move around easily, unlike the previous fishbowl design, which would’ve been much more restrictive for her lekku. The color of the suit also matches that of her headtails.

With the help of the suit, Ahsoka is able to complete one of the coolest action sequences in the show. This spacewalk scene was not new to Star Wars either, as we saw another in the third season of Star Wars Rebels, when Ezra leads a group of Mandalorians to spacewalk to take down an Imperial Interdictor. Ahsoka was the first time we saw this done in live-action though, and it was worth the wait. It showed how far Ahsoka has come as a fighter since we were first introduced to her. Hopefully, this won’t be the last time we see her fancy new spacesuit.
