'Arcane' May Be Ending, But 'League Of Legends' World Will Continue
Fans of the adult animated series Arcane got their first full trailer for the show’s highly anticipated second season. However, they were also hit with the revelation that the upcoming season will be the show’s last.
Based on the video game League of Legends, Arcane made its debut on Netflix in November 2021, but unlike most Netflix series, it aired its first nine-episode season over a few weeks rather than all at once. The series follows sisters-turned-enemies Vi (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell) and their roles in the conflict between the affluent steampunk city of Piltover, and its seedy underground Zaun, with many other LOL characters caught in the crossfire as tensions rise between the two factions. The first season ended with Jinx launching an attack on Piltover’s council, setting the stage for what could become a full-blown war in the second season.

While Arcane will come to an end with season two, it may only be the beginning of a larger universe of League of Legends shows, as Arcane co-creator Christian Linke revealed in an announcement:
“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche…From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”
Arcane season two hits Netflix this November. Check out the trailer here:
