Bruce Willis' Family Announces That The Actor Has Dementia
The family of action star Bruce Willis recently announced that the actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Last spring, they revealed that Willis had aphasia, which affects a person’s ability to understand and express spoken and written language. While it was a “relief to have a clear diagnosis,” they have also noted that there are “no treatments for the disease.”
Bruce’s blended family, which includes ex-wife and actress Demi Moore, has thanked everyone for their support:
“Bruce has always found joy in life – and has helped everyone he knows to do the same. It has meant the world to see that sense of care echoed back to him and to all of us. We have been so moved by the love you have all shared for our dear husband, father, and friend during this difficult time. Your continued compassion, understanding, and respect will enable us to help Bruce live as full a life as possible.”
