Director, David Yates has confirmed that he will not be involved in the upcoming reboot of the Harry Potter franchise. When asked about any plans to work with the Max series, the accomplished director said that he "could not, in any conceivable way, get involved," he went on to explain that while he treasured the experience, he "spent a long time at that school, in those corridors, and in those classrooms," and he feels he has left it.

Yates is best known for directing the Fantastic Beasts trilogy, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1 and 2. He said that he wishes the show well and that "it's gonna be amazing to see them re-explore all it can be for the next generation. I think it'll be a challenge for everyone involved, but it's a very exciting enterprise and I wish it well. It was an amazing experience for me, and I know the other filmmakers who were involved, and it will be for the next generation of filmmakers."

The films, after all this time, still entertain fans, old and new, and are available on Max for streaming. Many longtime fans of both J.K Rowling’s book series and the movie franchise are excited to see if the series format lends to a closer adaptation of Rowling’s written works, including fleshing out some of the characters more in-depth.
