Don't Expect This 'Star Wars: Rogue One' Star To Appear In 'Andor' Season 2
Andor season 2 has wrapped up production, but it seems that another star from Rogue One won’t be showing up. Ben Mendelsohn has confirmed that he will not be returning as Orson Krennic. He had returned in The Bad Batch, but it appears he won’t be in this Rogue One prequel. Mendelsohn explained that Lucasfilm hadn’t contacted him about coming back, adding, “It would be great to see him again somewhere, but for now everything stops here. But as far as I’m concerned, I would be very willing to explore it further and significantly in that world. I never expected to play a character like that, but then again I never expected to become an actor either. For me they are all wonderful things.”
Despite his lack of appearances in the upcoming second season of Andor, Mendelsohn has given some ideas as to where Krennic could go, stating, “What we need to understand about a character like Krennic is that, if he had had the chance, he would have tried to take over the entire game and it seems to me that this aspect has not yet been explored sufficiently.” The galaxy is vast, however, and it seems logical that one of the Empire’s officers will appear somewhere else, but for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
