'Avengers: Doomsday' Casting Livestream Breaks Record With 275M Views

This past Wednesday, March 26th, was a huge event for MCU fans, as that was when the cast for Avengers: Doomsday was unveiled through a specialized livestream. The over five-hour announcement livestream featured the revelation of 27 cast members, including returning Fox X-men alumnus Kelsey Grammer (also known as the good doctor himself, Dr. Frasier Crane of Cheers and Frasier fame) as Beast, James Marsden (also known for Tom Wachowski in the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise) as Cylcops, Channing Tatum as Gambit (returning to the role from Deadpool and Wolverine, which is considered a send off to that era), Patrick Stewart (also known for Captain Jean-Luc Picard) as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Rebecca Romajin as Mystique.
The lengthy stream also revealed the cast for Fantastic Four: First Steps, including Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. The other cast members on the chairs included Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Simu Liu, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston and Robert Downey Jr.
This viral stunt amassed over 275 million views, breaking the record set by Deadpool & Wolverine’s Super Bowl trailer, which is currently the highest-viewed trailer of all time. As the livestream continued, it grew to be the most viewed cross-platform livestream event of all time, streaming across YouTube, X, and Instagram. Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
