George R.R. Martin To Visit Set Of 'Dunk & Egg'
George R.R. Martin candidly published in his official blog, “Not a Blog” that he and his wife Parris are going to visit Belfast, Northern Ireland, where the HBO series ‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ just started filming a few weeks ago. The couple should be there this week, and Martin is looking forward to meeting Peter Claffey, who is cast as Ser Duncan the Tall, Dexter Sol Ansell, who is cast as Egg, and meeting with producers Ira Parker and Owen Harris and their team, “and take in some jousting”.
‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ is based on Martin’s “The Hedge Knight”. It is set to run for six episodes to come out in 2025. It takes place between the events of “House of Dragons” and “A Game of Thrones”. Martin expressed his pleasure in the casting of Claffey, who he describes as looking “as though he just stepped out of the pages of LEGENDS”.

Along with visiting the set in Belfast, Martin also plans on going to London to meet with his U.K. publishers Harper Collins Voyage (and he is very adamant that this meeting does NOT mean that The Winds of Winter is imminent) and to meet with his producers of the GoT-themed stage play that is to take place during the tourney of Harrenhal, which Martin is hopeful will open on London’s West End in 2025. From there, GRRM will go to Oxford’s Writer’s House, where he will speak on the topic “Writing Fantasy” with Philip Pullman on August 2. He will round out his trip by attending the World Science Fiction Convention, which takes place in Glasgow, Scotland from August 8-12.
