Get Ready, A New Character Is Joining 'The Rings Of Power' Season 2

Tolkien fans are eagerly anticipating the premiere of the second season of Amazon Prime Video's popular series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The first season took us on a thrilling journey through Middle-earth, leaving Isildur, portrayed by Maxim Baldry, badly injured while revealing Sauron through Halbrand, played by Charlie Vickers. These are just a couple of examples of the many twists in the ensemble cast's journey by the finale. So, what might they have in store for the late summer release of the next installment? IGN recently shared some exclusive photos from the set, introducing a new character. Her name is Estrid, played by Nia Towle. In one of the images, she is pictured alongside Isildur and Arondir, played by Ismael Cruz Cordova.
So, who is she, and why is she significant? We can only speculate, but she may be destined to become Isildur’s wife. Tolkien only mentioned her in the text as his wife, and given the timeline of events, Isildur may be racing the clock to get married and have his first son, Elendur, before the fall of Numenor takes place. Check out one of IGN’s exclusive set photos below. It certainly suggests that these two become more than just pals.

What we know for now is that Estrid will meet up with Isildur and Arondir at the beginning of season two as they and the rest of the Southlanders continue to prepare for their journey to Pelagir in the interest of putting as much distance as possible between them and Mount Doom. The season is set to premiere on August 29th.
