'Gravity Falls' Villain Bill Cipher, Gets His Own Book, 'The Book Of Bill,' With A Summer 2024 Release
The Disney series Gravity Falls quickly became a fan favorite due to its odd characters and overarching plot. Now, fans have a chance to relieve the story from a unique perspective. The book is told from Bill Cipher’s point of view. For those unfamiliar with the series, Bill Cipher is a demonic interdimensional triangle that served trouble to the show’s protagonists Dipper and Mable Pine. Series creator and the voice of Bill Cipher, Alex Hirsch shared the news with a post on X, “Against all laws of physics, logic, and good taste, Bill Cipher has somehow managed to write a book. This can’t be good. The Book of Bill invades bookstores this July!”
The Book of Bill reveals Bill Cipher’s origin story and some Pine family secrets along with the key to taking over the world and an extensive section on silly straws. While Gravity Falls has released tie-in books before, such as Journal 3, what sets The Book of Bill apart is it’s geared toward an older audience with the age range described as adult. In a separate X post, Hirsch wrote, “If Journal 3 was the angel on your shoulder, The Book of Bill is…for the other shoulder.” The book will contain illustrations, ciphers, and mixed media. The Book of Bill will be released in bookstores and on digital media on July 23, 2024. Barnes & Noble will release the book with an exclusive cover showing Bill Cipher in gold while other versions have him depicted in red.
