Is Twitter On Life Support? Former Twitter Employees Are Warning That Twitter May Shut Down In As Little As A Few Days

The hashtag #RIPTwitter is currently the number one trending topic on Twitter, in the midst of Elon Musk’s first 2 weeks at the company.
To say that it has been eventful would be an understatement. Musk fired top executives including CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Segal, and delisted Twitter from the New York Stock Exchange, making it a private company. Advertisers like Pfizer, GM, and United have already ceased advertising on the platform, citing concerns over the potential rise in hate speech and misinformation.

On top of that, Elon proceeded to lay off over half of its workforce, but then quickly backpedaled a few days later when it was discovered that several key workers were laid off in haste. Musk also introduced Twitter Blue, an $8-a-month subscription for any user to be verified by a blue check. Because the verification could easily be manipulated to clone an actual business or person, several accounts suffered harsh consequences.
Eli Lilly, a pharmaceutical giant and one of the major manufacturers of insulin, “tweeted” (via impersonator) “We are excited to announce that insulin is free now.” Stock for the company plummeted; they pulled their advertising and are now threatening to sue Musk and Twitter for loss of revenue.
Tonight at Twitter headquarters in San Francisco, a rogue calling himself a “projection activist” is projecting phrases such as “Musk’s hellscape” and “#StopToxicTwitter.” This is in opposition to Musk’s most recent demand of his employees, which asked only those who would commit “hardcore” to the company to stay and those who would not to “take severance.”
It’s been rumored by several current and ex-employees that Twitter does not have the sustainability to remain up and running with the amount of staff currently with the company, which is where #RIPTwitter comes into play. The version of Twitter used by employees is starting to slow down, leading several employees to come out and say that it’s very possible that the public version could die as soon as tonight. Thousands of users are giving well-wishes to their followers, and others are tweeting that they’re staying with the platform until it’s gone forever. Businesses are tweeting out their other social media accounts so that fans can still keep up with everything.
