John Rhys-Davies Will Return As Gimli For ‘The Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria'
In one week, The Lord of the Rings fans will rejoice to hear John Rhys-Davies return to voice Lord Gimli Lockbearer when The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria releases. Rhys-Davis first portrayed the role in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.
Rhys-Davies spoke with Eurogamer about his perspective on returning to the role; “It’s always fun to come back and think of the ‘what-ifs,’ and the chance to work on this game is an exploration of one of the what-ifs, isn’t it?”

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will lead players through the Fourth Age of Middle-earth and go beyond Tolkien’s initial canon. The game will rely on nostalgia for Jackson’s films as the audience hears Rhys-Davies narrate the trailer for the game.
The game’s synopsis reads, “Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players band together as a company of Dwarves tasked to reclaim the lost spoils from the Dwarven homeland of Moria- known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf - in the depths below their very feet. Their quest will require fortitude and teamwork, delving deep into the Mines of Moria to recover its treasures and in the hopes of one day restoring them to their former glory.”
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will be released on October 21 on PC and is due to be released on PlayStation on an unannounced date.
