Mark Hamill stated he doesn’t think he will voice Joker again and his words broke our hearts.

He is best known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. However, his portrayal of Joker marked the fans and transcended time. He started voicing the Clown Prince of Crime in 1992 in Batman: The Animated Series until 1995, when the show ended. Additionally, he voiced the character in many projects, including spinoff series, films, and video games.

Throughout all his portrayals of the Joker, one thing was consistent: his partner Kevin Conroy. They worked together on several projects as the iconic nemesis duo that is Batman and Joker. When speaking to Empire Magazine Hamill revealed he does not think he will return as the Joker after the death of his longtime friend and partner.

Their performance in Batman: The Animated Series became one of the most faithful adaptations of the comics, and their interaction represented the dynamic of Batman and Joker flawlessly. Sadly, Kevin Conroy passed on November 10, 2022, after fighting cancer. He never publicly disclosed he was ill so his departure from this world took the fans by surprise, to a certain degree.

"They would call and say, 'They want you to do the Joker,' and my only question was, 'Is Kevin Batman?' If they said yes, I would say, 'I'm in.' We were like partners. We were like Laurel and Hardy. Without Kevin there, there doesn't seem to be a Batman for me." Those were Hamill’s words regarding his role as Joker; he continues to honor his late friend and the unbreakable bond they shared.
