Mel Brooks Returns To Television With 'History Of The World Part II' Over 40 Years After 'Part I' Premiered

Mel Brooks, famous for his spoof comedies, has finally put pen to paper and given us a sequel to his hit History of The World, Part I. It has only been a forty-year wait! History of The World, Part II is set to be a series rather than a feature film and Dove Cameron has reportedly already signed on.

Brooks will be writing all eight episodes as well as producing, but it is hard to believe that he won’t be making an appearance. Also joining Mel Brooks on the production credits are comedy heavyweights Wanda Sykes and Nick Kroll. Brooks’ last major writing credit was The Producers in 2005 so his return has been a long time coming. As with many of his films, Brooks parodied his own sequel with a mock trailer for Part II before the end credits of History of the World, Part I. The trailer claimed that Part II would feature “Hitler on Ice,” “A Viking Funeral,” and “Jews in Space.”
