Milly Alcock Has Been Cast As Supergirl In James Gunn's 'Superman' Movie
Milly Alcock, known for playing Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of The Dragon, will be joining James Gunn’s DC universe. "Welcome to the DCU, Milly Alcock!" Gunn said on Threads.
Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly also were up for the role. Beating out Donnelly is especially impressive, given that she voices Supergirl in Legion of Superheroes and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One. Gunn also said,
“In our series we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl. She’s much more hardcore; she’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing.”
There is speculation that Alcock will premiere her new role in the upcoming Superman Legacy, which will soon begin filming. She will appear as the lead protagonist in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which will be based on a comic series written in 2022 by Tom King. NO director has yet been announced for said movie.
