Move Over, Targaryens, 'The Last Of Us' Season Viewership Surpasses 'House Of The Dragon'
Last Sunday, The Last of Us series came to an end with a gripping season finale that hooked fans of the videogame and newcomers. According to HBO, the show counted almost 40 million viewers since its first episode premiered on January 15. This is more than the 29 million scored by HBO’s House of the Dragons that aired last year.
The 40 million number included the 30.4 million viewers who saw the first six episodes of the show and the 8.2 million viewers that caught the season finale. Of note, there were 74.5% more viewers for the season finale than for the season premiere. These numbers were based on people that watched the show both on the HBO cable channel and on HBO Max with most of its audience streaming the show on HBO Max.
