Paramount Has Released The Newest Trailer For Their 'Yellowstone' Prequel '1923'

On December 18, 1923, the second spin-off to the popular drama and neo-western show Yellowstone will premiere on Paramount+. Like the main show, which premiered in 2018, and the first spin-off 1883, which aired in December 2021, the new series will focus on the life and struggles of the Dutton family and their giant ranch in Montana.

As the title suggests, the story this time will unfold in the early twentieth century, when a historic drought, pandemics, economic depression, and  Prohibition plagued the mountain west. Paramount has now released an official trailer for the series, which stars Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton, the head of the family, and Helen Mirren as his strong-headed and valiant wife Cara.

For Ford, who is currently working on the fifth Indiana Jones installment and will join the MCU as Thaddeus Ross in 2024, 1923 is the second TV gig in recent times after playing the therapist Dr. Phil Rhodes in Apple TV+'s Shrinking. But Ford and Mirren won't be the only familiar faces in 1923: Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones) portrays a local heavy, while former James Bond Timothy Dalton plays a wealthy neighbor of the Duttons who is up for no good.

Further cast members are Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, and Aminah Nieves, as members of the Dutton family or workers on the farm. As with Yellowstone and 1883, 1923 is the brainchild of Taylor Sheridan, who also wrote the scripts and acts as executive producer.

1923 will premiere on Paramount+ in the USA and Canada on Sunday, December 18, with a linear airing of the debut episode on Paramount after the new Yellowstone episode. On December 19, the show will become available in Australia and the United Kingdom. A second season is already in the works.
