Patty Jenkins Says 'Wonder Woman 3' Is Out, 'Rogue Squadron' Is In
Patty Jenkins was announced as the director of Rogue Squadron back in September 2020, the long-awaited film about the galaxy’s most famous X-Wing Squad. There’s a lot of Expanded Universe source material to draw from for this movie, ten books, four computer games, and even a card game. Fans have been salivating at the idea that Wedge, Hobbie, and Wes might get their own movie.
But two years later, Disney shelved Rogue Squadron, and Patty Jenkins went off to write the script for Wonder Woman 3. James Gunn then took over at DC, completely revamping the universe and cutting Wonder Woman series. Bad for Gal Gadot, but good for Lucasfilm who have a free director again.

In a recent HBO podcast, Patty Jenkins said that she’s back working on Rogue Squadron, in a new deal signed right before the strike last summer.
“When Wonder Woman 3 then went away, Lucasfilm and I were like, ‘Oh, we’ve got to finish this deal.’ We finished the deal right as the strike was beginning, so I now owe a draft of Star Wars. So we will see what happens there. Who knows?”
It looks as if Patty Jenkins is currently working on the script for the movie. However, Lucasfilm has yet to comment, and when contacted by Variety and The Wrap about the progress of Rogue Squadron, they did not comment. They are either being tight-lipped, or the future of the movie is still up in the air.
