Square Enix has confirmed that the Kingdom Hearts series, specifically the games comprising the “Dark Seeker saga”, are coming to Steam. These include Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX (a compilation of Kingdom Hearts, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, and Birth By Sleep), Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC, and Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece, a bundle of all previous games listed.

According to the publisher, HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX will feature texture updates to the games’ graphics, while purchasing III or Integrum Masterpiece will award players with a Steam-exclusive Keyblade, “Dead of Night”.

The Kingdom Hearts series is developed and published by Square Enix (Square prior to 2003), in collaboration with Disney. Fittingly, the series features characters from both companies, though the focus is mainly on original characters like Sora. The games are known for their complex (and, at times, convoluted) stories, and deal heavily in themes of light and darkness.

The games have been released on a variety of platforms, but are mainly associated with the PlayStation series of consoles. This series has been going on for more than twenty years, and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight.
