Weta Workshop Is Hosting An Exclusive Screening Of ‘The Return Of The King' In Auckland For The Movie's 20th Anniversary
It’s been nearly twenty years since Peter Jackson’s epic conclusion to his series of The Lord of the Rings films, The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King. In celebration of this event, the Weta Workshop will host an exclusive screening of the film on the film’s anniversary.
Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger, the co-founders of the Weta Workshop, will offer live commentary to the film along with stories from behind the scenes. VIP tickets will provide 45-minute Q&A sessions before the film screens. Attendees can also expect to find props, costumes, characters, and creatures displayed for the special event.

The Weta Workshop opened in 2008 as an attraction for tourists who visited Wellington, New Zealand, to see the hills and mountains used in the film series. The workshop is known as one of the principal visual effect studios in the world. The Weta Workshop received Academy Awards for their effort in The Lord of the Rings films, King Kong, The Avengers, and The Hobbit Trilogy.
Initially opened as a brick-and-mortar storefront for interesting memorabilia for the films, the Weta Workshop now offers guided tours and hands-on workshops. The workshop provided 48,000 separate creative sets and costume pieces for the films.
