A List Of The Most Terrifying Aliens In 'Starfield'
Starfield is the newest open-world IP by Bethesda. The game is massive, and there are so many different things to do, it would be hard for someone to get bored. One of the best parts of the game is exploring planets within the many galaxies. While exploring, you can mine for resources, raid various caverns, and sometimes even find random quests. However, many dangers are involved when exploring a new planet, and one of these is the fauna on those planets. Some are nice and peaceful, while others are out for blood. You could say each of these creatures is important for the story, and the world of Starfield, but that doesn’t make them any less terrifying. Let’s take a look at the most terrifying creatures in Starfield.
5. Maggotmaw
As someone who dislikes bugs, the name alone makes my skin crawl. These things, like everything else on this list, are terrifying. While none of the creatures are pleasant to look at, the maggotmaws are especially jarring. This creature has a long mouth and an unnecessary number of sharp fangs. They can be found on the planet of Charybdis III. They also tend to be quite resilient to damage, so it is recommended to use many, many grenades, and energy weapons to eradicate this monster.

4. XL-069 Interloper
A lot of these creatures have been more bug-like than anything, and maybe that's because bugs are absolutely terrifying. However, creatures of the ocean can also be scary, so this next creature is perfect for our list. The XL-069 Interloper looks like it came right out of the deep ocean, or at least the water of Neon. It’s located in a laboratory, on the Colander, an abandoned ship. This creature looks a lot like a stingray but only if the stingray came out of Alien. It stalks the ship and is a hefty level 85, so if you want to take on this creature, make sure you bring lots of ammo because you’re going to need it.
3. Hunting Nightmare
This creature is aptly named, as they are truly the thing of nightmares. The Hunting Nightmare is an apex predator that resides on the planet of Ixyll II within the remote Ixyll. These things have six large eyes on the front of their head, and smaller runs running down the side. A cool fact about these monsters is that they have different color variants depending on their surroundings. If you somehow make your way to Ixyll and see one of these literal “nightmares”, I would suggest running away, or you might be in for a scary fight.
2. Hunting Cephalopod
I said earlier that I dislike bugs, and that goes double for spiders. So when I found out about this terrifying alien, I knew I had to add it to the list. The hunting cephalopods are even more spider-like than the terror morphs and are of course, terrifying. The most terrifying thing about this creature is that it looks like a spider-octopus hybrid, making it a true abomination. One player reported seeing a flying version of this creature in the Archimedes System, and another said they found a cloaked version on a random planet. If for some reason you want to seek out this literal alien of your nightmares, make your way over to Nirvana II and maybe you’ll be lucky or unlucky enough to find one.
1. Terrormorph
These abominations are unfortunately something you meet early on. There are many times throughout the game when you get to meet these terrifying creatures, especially during the UC Vanguard questline. These things are terrifying and hard to fight. While I play on easy, so I can enjoy the game experience, I could not imagine how it would be to fight these things on a harder difficulty. If I had the choice, I would choose to run the opposite way, instead of fighting these abominations.
Bethesda is no stranger to terrifying creatures, and sometimes you meet them early on. The Deathclaws were terrifying in the Fallout series, and Starfield definitely has its share of terrifying creatures. It makes sense, as space is massive, and that’s no different in Starfield. So be careful next time you land your ship on a new planet because you never know what terrifying creature awaits you.
