The Best Ahsoka Episodes In ‘The Clone Wars’ And ‘Rebels’

Ahsoka Tano is one of the most beloved Star Wars characters. She was first introduced in the Star Wars animated movie, The Clone Wars, which eventually evolved into a seven-season series. Fans got to see Ahsoka grow throughout the show, and she is now getting her own live-action series that premieres later this month. Like any character, Ahsoka has had some great moments, so let's look back at some of her best appearances in animated Star Wars.
The Clone Wars Season 5, Episode 20: “The Wrong Jedi”

This is one of the saddest episodes in all of The Clone Wars. Someone bombed the Jedi temple, and Ahsoka is accused, arrested, and expelled from the Jedi Order. Anakin and Padmé race against time to prove Ahsoka’s innocence. She is put on trial, and it seems many members of the courts have already made up their minds. Right as she is being sentenced, Anakin rushes in and reveals that the true culprit behind the bombings was Ahsoka’s friend, Barriss Offee. Once this is revealed, Ahsoka is offered her spot back in the Jedi Order, but refuses, as the trust has already been broken. She then sets off to find her place outside of the Jedi.

Ahsoka confronts Maul on Mandalore. Before their final confrontation, she finds out that Anakin will be responsible for the fall of the Jedi. When she sees Maul again, he offers her a role alongside him, where together they can defeat Darth Sidious. She refuses to believe Anakin’s fate, defeats Maul, and takes him into custody.
The Clone Wars Season 7, Episode 12: “Victory and Death”

This is by far the saddest episode of The Clone Wars. We get to see Order 66 from Ahsoka’s perspective. She has taken the chip out of Rex’s head, and the two of them try to find their crashing ship. The clones have the two of them trapped, but she wants to be able to leave without killing them; she knows that they are not responsible for their actions. The plan she came up with is mostly successful until Maul steals their ship. She lets him go in order to save Rex. They are able to battle their way to another ship, where they escape their ship's crash. She then makes a memorial for the soldiers who were lost and disappeared.
Tales of the Jedi Season 1, Episode 6: “Resolve”

Star Wars decided to dive deeper into characters fans saw in The Clone Wars, and thus brought us Tales Of The Jedi. We got to see the early origins of Ahsoka Tano, but the most important Ahsoka episode was the finale. It dealt with the events that occurred in the Ahsoka novel. She attends Padmé’s funeral and then meets Bail Organa, who recruits her to join the Rebellion. She then goes into hiding, where she takes the name Ashla. While in hiding, she helps a planet’s locals until an Inquisitor finds her. She defeats him and takes his lightsaber and kyber crystal, which she purifies to end up with the white lightsabers we see her wielding in The Mandalorian.
Rebels Season 2, Episodes 21 & 22: “The Twilight Apprentice”

Ahsoka was next seen in Rebels. She aids the Ghost crew under the name of Fulcrum until she reveals her true identity. During the Season 2 finale, she accompanies Kanan and Ezra to the ancient planet of Malachor in search of a Sith temple. There they meet Maul, who is trying to corrupt Ezra. However, Darth Vader also makes an appearance, and this is where Ahsoka finally finds out that Darth Vader is indeed her old Master, Anakin Skywalker. The two duel it out, and that is the last we see of Ahsoka until her live-action debut in the second season of The Mandalorian.
Ahsoka is an iconic character, and we will be seeing much more of her very soon in her own series coming out this month. Star Wars wouldn’t be the same without her, and there are plenty of intense, emotional episodes where fans can enjoy the depth of her character.
