Exciting 'Shrek 5' Cast Announcement

The return of Shrek has been known for over a year now, with Shrek 5 slated for a 2026 release last year. The cast includes Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz, reprising their roles as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona. Now, a new teaser for the film confirms the new release date of Christmas 2026 and adds Zendaya to the cast list.

Zendaya, who has appeared in the MCU Spider-Man films as MJ, will be portraying Shrek’s daughter. Appearing in this teaser trailer as a teenager, it seems there has been quite a time jump since Shrek Forever After. That fourth film, released in 2010, saw Shrek’s daughter Felicia as a baby alongside her brothers Fergus and Farkle. At present, it is unknown if those brothers will appear in Shrek 5.

The teaser trailer, shown below, features Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and Felicia looking at the Magic Mirror with Pinocchio. Who denies creating the Shrek fan art the Magic Mirror is showing the group? Though those two didn’t have cast members named, it seems likely that Chris Miller and Cody Cameron are voicing them. Unknown at present is whether the fourth of the main cast, Puss In Boots, will return for Shrek 5. There’s plenty of time to find out while waiting for its release at Christmas in 2026.
