Games Workshop’s 'Space Marine 3' Is Officially In Development

While it was not entirely unexpected, Saber Interactive, Focus Entertainment, and Games Workshop still took many off-guard with the sudden announcement that Space Marine 3 was in development.
Space Marine 2, a sequel to a decade-plus-old previous title, launched in 2024 to considerable success and has seen consistent free content updates since its release. Many fans have appreciated the additions to the game, and while it is unlikely these updates will now stop, the news of a third game in development is surely welcome news for any who worried SM2 might become live service-like.
The announcement about the third game was brief, with the company openly stating that many details were being tightly controlled for more reveals at a later time. But, they noted that this new title in development “promises bigger battles, more action and more enemies to purge.” They also candidly noted that the game is years away from release.

With Amazon’s upcoming Warhammer project (or projects) on the horizon, this announcement assures the fanbase that the 40K setting will continue to get content from multiple vectors beyond tabletop gaming. It also may be the case that further Space Marine-brand content will be released through Amazon after the well-received Space Marine 2-focused episode of Secret Level. We’ll have to wait for more news regarding this third game in the series and other new gaming projects undertaken by Games Workshop.
