Not one but two The Lord of the Rings stars have announced that they will be stepping away from the spotlight recently, in a move that would have forced The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power to make last-minute script changes.

Nazanin Boniadi, the talented Iranian actress who played Bronwyn in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season one has announced that she will not return to the part. It is unclear why Boniadi has relinquished the role, which Amazon has decided not to recast. So Bronwyn will written out of season two which airs on August 29th, 2024.

Nazanin has said that her decision is not related to her advocacy. The actress is a passionate representative of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement. The worldwide human rights campaign has recently returned to the news, fighting for the release of political prisoner rapper, Toomaj Salehi who is currently on death row in Iran.

Nazanin Boniadi is not the only The Lord of the Rings star quitting the franchise. Despite rumors that Evangeline Lilly might make an appearance in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power back in 2020, the Hollywood star has announced that she is going to stop acting altogether. Lilly played elf Tauriel in the two Hobbit movies, but she has also starred in major hits like Ant-Man, Lost, and The Hurt Locker. Lilly announced the shock move on Instagram, using old interview footage from 2006 where she makes it clear that it was never her intention to act into her golden years.
