Netflix Is Actively Searching For Their Live-Action 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Toph
Despite what some may say on the internet, the first season of the live-action adaptation of The Last Airbender was successful. So much so that Netflix quickly renewed the series for the next two seasons, matching the original show’s run length.
As the same characters are in the second season, they are due to return, but there are new characters to introduce, and one pretty important one. Aang needs to master the other elements if he’s going to take on the Fire Lord, so he’ll need an earthbending master to do so. In the original show, that fell on a young girl named Toph. Why Toph? Because she can’t see, yet she’s still the single best earthbender there is.

She’s pretty integral to Aang’s journey, so it was clear early on that they would need to cast for Toph, and it looks like that’s going on at this moment. Netflix has posted a call for actors fitting Toph’s description—mid-to-late teens, Asian, female, and perhaps most importantly, blind or hard of seeing.
It’s obviously early on in the development of seasons two and three, but it’s exciting news to confirm that Toph will be in season two, and they are actively recruiting people who are blind. Toph doesn’t mess around though, so whoever they get must bring their “A” game on sass.
