Run Time For 'Percy Jackson And The Olympians' Will Be One-Hour Episodes
Rick Riordan’s popular young adult novel series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is being adapted for release as a Disney+ series. The book series features Percy Jackson, a modern-day 12-year-old boy who discovers he is a Greek demigod and, in the first installment, is accused of stealing Zeus’s master lightning bolt. Percy Jackson and his friends, Grover and Annabeth, have to find the lightning bolt to restore order to Mount Olympus.
The first season of the series will be adapting the first of the Percy Jackson novels, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Much like Game of Thrones, each of the five planned future seasons will adapt each of Riordan’s novels in the series. The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters were previously adapted by Chris Columbus and Thor Frudenthal into full-length movies in 2010 and 2012, respectively. A group of high schoolers even created a web series based on the Percy Jackson books in 2017.
