Star Trek: Prodigy had a temporary hiatus after Season 1 was removed from Paramount+, where all other Star Trek series and movies are housed, but finally relaunched with Netflix to release Season 2 on July 1, 2024. Prodigy is co-produced with Nickelodeon, making it a delight for Star Trek fans of all ages. Season 2 of Prodigy is one of the best introductions to the Star Trek universe as a whole in recent years, closely followed by the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds back in 2022.

While newer fans who are just beginning their journey into the Star Trek franchise with Star Trek: Prodigy will enjoy the story and characters of the animated series, veteran fans will appreciate the numerous Easter eggs throughout the show. Many episodes of Prodigy connect to other series that are taking place in the same timeline and call back to other Star Trek series, including Star Trek: Next Generation, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Voyager.
