Tom Cruise Lined Up To Perform A Stunt At Olympics Closing Ceremony
The 2024 Olympic Games being held in Paris is soon coming to a close on August 11. Much like its opening ceremony, the closing ceremony will also feature many celebrities as part of the show. One in particular is Tom Cruise, who will be the one to pass the flag to the host of the 2028 Olympics. Los Angeles.
Cruise is currently filming Mission: Impossible 8 around Europe, though has taken the time to attend the opening ceremony and a few of the events of the Olympics. French blog Sortir á Paris reported that Cruise has been practising for the closing ceremony in May, with a route that includes both the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées Avenue.
The closing ceremony will take place at the Stade de France, with the 2,800 square meter stage being used for a show that charts the history of the Olympic Games. From the organisers of the event, there will be “over a hundred performers, acrobats, dancers and circus artists” in addition to the famous faces who will be taking part in the event. A performance within a dystopian environment is said to be part of the event, along with one involving the five interlaced rings that represent the world’s five continents coming together for the Olympics.
