'13 Going On 30: The Musical' Set For Fall 2025 World Premiere
13 Going on 30 is coming to the stage!!
The musical stage adaptation of the 2004 rom-com is set to premiere at the UK’s Manchester Opera House in late September of next year. The stage script will be written by the film’s original screenwriters, Josh Goldsmith, and Cathy Yuspa, while the score is set to be written by songwriting team Michael Weiner and Alan Zachary.
Goldsmith and Yuspa have said that they never dreamt that a whole new generation would fall in love with the story; they were thrilled by the response to their workshop in 2023, and they can’t wait for the show to premiere in Manchester at a venue that has been the launchpad of many iconic shows.
The story of 13 Going on 30 revolves around Jenna Rink, a teenager who wakes up as an adult one day after wishing that she could skip over the pain and awkwardness of her high school years. Throughout the story, she is made to examine her seeming success against the type of person she has become and figure out the things that really matter.
Casting for 13 Going on 30: The Musical is set to be announced at a later date.
