Critical Role Tease Possible Video Game For Their 10th Anniversary
The Dungeons & Dragons show, Critical Role, has been around for an impressive 10 years. The years have spanned multiple campaigns, one-shots, their own publishing company, and three seasons of their animated show on Amazon Prime. They’ve conquered many realms in the entertainment industry, but the one left untouched is video games. Could there be a Critical Role videogame on the horizon?
The cast is no stranger to video games, as most of them got their start in the industry. They have talked about a possible game for years, but could it finally come true? CEO Travis Willingham recently said that “it's an active pursuit on our end. The last few years, we’ve been having the necessary conversations to figure out how to do that smartly.” This endeavor would be vastly different from anything they have done before.
Since the 10th anniversary falls in 2025, Willingham mentioned that “hopefully we’ll have something exciting to share, maybe at the beginning of 2025, just in time for our 10-year anniversary”. The announcement could be as soon as the end of this month, as there is a new State Of The Role on Thursday, January 30th. Even if a game isn’t officially announced, fans should get excited about whatever is announced.
