Disney Cancels Marvel's 'Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur' After Second Season
After hints pointed toward it, Disney has confirmed that Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has been cancelled. But it is not all bad news, as the cliffhanger the second season ended on is going to be resolved with new episodes that will arrive in February 2025 for Disney Channel and Disney+.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is a series based on the Marvel comic of the same name, bringing 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and the 10-ton crimson T-Rex Devil Dinosaur to New York City. Together, they protect the Lower East Side of the city from danger. The second season ended with a personal fight for Lunella in more ways than one. The short episodes that followed, released under the name of Moon Girl’s Lab, did not continue the story. But the new episodes that are being created will.

The first hint that Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur was cancelled came from executive producer Steve Loter last month. Sharing to social media an image of musical instruments without a person he sight, it was captioned with the question“Where’s the Orchestra?” and tagged with both Disney and the name of the show. The DisneyToon account recently revealed the news of the cancellation, bringing many messages from the crew.
These messages have been thanking the people they worked with for being great to work with on the series, such as storyboard artist Sixiao Tang. “This show will always have a special place in my heart as my first revisionist + boarding gig. Thanks for taking a chance on me and I hope everyone enjoys the last batch! It’s been real, moon girl.” Of course, the future of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has been known for quite some time, with Gabi Rode of Disney Television Animation revealing, “What sucks is that a bunch of us at Disney knew about this for so long but couldn’t outright say it. The MoonGirl production area was a ghost town for over a year.”
