Nintendo Reveals Length Of Switch 2 Direct, Plus More Showcases For What Will Be Announced

Ever since its reveal in January of this year, it has been known that a Nintendo Direct would reveal more about the Switch 2 and the games that will come for it. Now, with 24 hours before it airs, Nintendo has revealed the length of that Direct, as well as a few surprising extras.

In the announcement, Nintendo reaffirmed the starting time of the Direct, along with saying that it would be around 60 minutes long. The starting time for that Direct will be 06:00 PDT / 09:00 EDT on April 2. On the days of April 3 and April 4, the Nintendo Treehouse Live streams return to showcase gameplay demonstrations of what gets revealed at the Direct. They will begin 07:00 PDT / 10:00 EDT on both days, expected to run for 3-4 hours.

With that Switch 2 reveal trailer, a new Mario Kart was showcased. It is expected to be part of this Direct. Rumours suggest that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be a cross-generation game, launching on both Switch and Switch 2. Speculation suggests that a Switch-focused Direct of the week before kept release dates as vague 2025 mentions to hide the release date of Switch 2. That release date, along with the price, should be revealed at this Switch 2 Direct.
