Fans of The Acolyte have a lot to get excited about. Although the show was cancelled soon after its finale, Disney+ has decided to listen to Star Wars fans and give the show a second chance! The first season was one of the most divisive Star Wars projects in recent memory with many fans online complaining about casting, story, and the twist at the end of the final episode. It looks like higher ups at both Disney and Lucasfilm decided that the show had more to offer and needs at least one more season. With Master Yoda being teased in the last moments of the season finale, it makes sense that the show would get one more chance at life.
It has been confirmed that creator Leslye Headland will return to write and direct a few of the episodes in the new season, but there is no word yet on who else will be brought in. It has also been confirmed that Amandla Stenberg and Manny Jacinto will return to star, and that Lee Jung-jae will be returning in at least one flashback scene. There is no word yet on when the show will begin filming or when it will hit the streaming service.
You can currently stream the first season of The Acolyte on Disney+.
