The Final Movie In The 'Conjuring' Series Has Started Filming
It appears that another horror franchise is coming to an end, as one report states that the “final Conjuring” has begun filming. Created by Director James Wan, The Conjuring Universe has been running steadily since 2013, being a major money maker for Warner Brothers. The shared universe is based on a dramatized version of real-life accounts of hauntings and the writings of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, albeit in a dramatized manner. James Wan wanted the main films to maintain some accuracy, while the spin-offs’ main goal is to “just explore different sub-genres in the horror genre,” using the characters as a jumping-off point.
The final film has begun filming, according to a post on X. It is due to be released on September 5, 2025. Whether this will be the actual end of The Conjuring Universe remains to be seen, as Horror franchises are notorious for continuing long after their planned stopping points. Still, it’s likely to at least leave a gap in the release schedule for the shared universe, and there might not be another film in production for quite some time. Only time will prove to us the fate of James Wan’s Conjuring Universe and where his next project lies.
