Mods are extremely popular among modern gamers. Creating and editing parts of the game can make it feel like yours. Whether it's simply editing skins, or adding entire playable classes to a game you love can make it feel like yours. However, especially with multiplayer games, a lot of the creators dislike the process, not trusting players who edit parts of the game.

Many of the most popular mods in the popular new game Marvel Rivals are designed to make many of the characters in the game look like characters, not from the Marvel Universe. For example, one of the most popular mods in the game turns billionaire tech genius Tony Stark/Ironman and makes him take the appearance of the character of Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, who ironically married a billionaire tech genius.

Many players who have been using mods have been wondering why their mods aren’t showing up. I representative from NetEase said, "It is not recommended to modify any game files, as doing so carries the risk of getting banned."  They stated that this is because the game is free to play, and all of the profits made are off of optional skins. These current mods threaten this income generation, and as a result, could lead to players being banned.
